Romance + Rivalry Workshop
Learn how to successfully pull off Romantic scenes in improv (i.e. kissing/dipping, cleaving, etc.) and how to play them in a safe space. At the same time, learn how to stage combat safely in improv (i.e. punches, falling, hair pulling). This is going to be one wild improv workshop! *Must have graduated from Level 1.

Taught by Karen Manthey
Karen Manthey has been a professional improviser for over 15 years and has performed in various states (WA, CA, KS, Pregnant, etc.). Though she’s already made her millions of dollars in improvisational comedy, she continues with it just to show her high school rival Samantha McNeely that she's made something of herself. Karen is a co-owner of Game Changer Improv, a teacher for Recycled Minds Comedy and a youth director for Treasure Valley Children's Theater. When not improvising, teaching, or directing, you can usually find Karen on a soap box in mid-town spouting the virtues of pyramid schemes. She's also prone to eating abnormal amounts of tacos and contemplating her life’s choices. When the tacos are gone Karen can be found teaching theatre programs around the Treasure Valley to adults/youth, or rifling through thrift shops to buy back the clothes she accidentally donated. Karen enjoys extreme sports, such as getting the mail from outside and putting her kids to bed. She's a sleep connoisseur who enjoys naps during business meetings, and luxurious travel on someone else’s dime. Karen's secret life’s ambition is to someday write her own improv bio...fingers crossed the stars will align for her.
